Thriller Poster Analysis

The women in the middle of the poster could be seen as the main character in the movie, this is because she is the main focus of the poster.
As you can see on the front of this poster the main characters face is breaking through the glass witch could suggest that she is trying to break free from something or someone.

The tag line 'rest in pieces' could mean that there is an element of danger within the movie so the theme could be based around something or someone trying to hurt or kill there victims.The women's face on the poster is a dark and creepy picture that uses low key lighting to suggest that this film could be very dark with something unexpected that could happen within the film. Some features of the women's face has been turned into more of a skull figure than a human face, this could for shadow that she is is running from "death" and that death is the villain with could suggest a supernatural narrative. This is a typical thriller narrative.

TAKEN

The film Taken has a common thriller poster. It has one man standing in the centre on the poster, this man is smartly dressed and is looking down towards his gun, this could suggest him being the main character in the movie and the one at which might be a strong and intelligent character. He is aged between his 30-40s which is also a common type of character for a action thriller movie.

There is a pitch black background with very low key lighting shining on half of the mans face and hand, this may mean that he will find himselve in a unexpected situation with-in which he doesnt know what to do or where to turn to next.

The quote "i dont know who you are but if you dont let my daughter go i will find you, i will kill you" is written accross the poster and infront of the character Liam Neeson, it is written in a bold front as he is putting his point across strongly. The title of the film "Taken" is at the bottom of the poster. It is written in a bold orange font, making it stand out from the rest of the poster. The title is in a soft orange colour suggesting somebodt vunerable and weak being the person in which is "taken" where as the rest of the poster is in bold masculine colours.
